AMBALA: Two teenaged boys, riding a scooter without helmets and holding the hand of a biker when they ran out of fuel to cruise along without pushing and pulling the two-wheeler to reach a petrol pump, earned the wrath of deputy commissioner Sameer Pal Srow, who happened to pass them while on way to his camp office.
Not only did the DC slap them for their rash ways, but also had their vehicle impounded.

The boys, both class X students of PKR Jain Public School, have been booked for underage driving. The incident happened in Ambala City on Monday afternoon, when Srow saw Gurvinder and his friend Sahil, riding pillion, following a biker. The scooter had run out of fuel and Sahil was holding the hand of the biker.
“This apparently irritated the DC, for his driver asked the youths to stop. The DC got down from the vehicle and slapped the boys without asking anything. He appeared quite emotional at that particular time. Soon after, he called a team of traffic police officials to the spot and had the scooter impounded,” an eyewitness told TOI.
Although the traffic cops and school principal Jyotsna confirmed the incident, they refused to comment on the issue of slapping of the students by the DC.
In a release issued to media during evening hour, deputy commissioner Sameer Pal Srow admitted having caught the two teenaged drivers and challaning them, but was silent over the issue of slapping them.
The release said that the deputy commissioner had taken the boys to his residence where their parents were summoned and counselled to not to allow under-age children to drive vehicles. The deputy commissioner also reiterated to intensify the drive against driving by teenaged.
